Good faith

Complete evidence is not required to raise a good-faith concern. A concern should be raised honestly using the information available.

Confidentiality

Reports received through the Integrity Channel are handled with confidentiality appropriate to the assessment and investigation of the matter.

Non-retaliation

Microboard prohibits retaliation against anyone who, in good faith, raises a concern, participates in an investigation or provides information regarding a potential violation.

Retaliation is prohibited against anyone who:

  • raises a concern in good faith;
  • participates in an investigation;
  • provides information;
  • refuses to participate in conduct they reasonably believe to be unlawful or inconsistent with policy.

Handling process

Reports are handled in the following stages:

  1. intake and registration;
  2. risk and conflict triage;
  3. appointment of an impartial reviewer;
  4. evidence preservation;
  5. proportionate investigation;
  6. findings and action;
  7. remediation and follow-up;
  8. appropriate data protection and retention.

Deliberately false reports

Honest reports are protected even when not substantiated. Deliberately false or fabricated reports may lead to appropriate action.
