Responsible Sourcing & Minerals Policy
Microboard seeks to develop a transparent, resilient and responsible supply chain.
Due diligence
Microboard adopts a risk-based due-diligence approach for relevant minerals and materials in its supply chain.
The depth of due diligence should be proportionate to the risk of the product, material, country, supplier and customer.
Minerals
For relevant components and materials, Microboard may request information on origin and smelters/refiners for:
- tin;
- tantalum;
- tungsten;
- gold (3TG);
- cobalt, mica and other minerals where required by product, customer or market.
Microboard uses the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas as a reference.
Where relevant, suppliers may be asked to complete the CMRT, EMRT or an equivalent format.
Principle
The objective is not simply to exclude entire regions, but to identify risks of contributing to conflict, serious human-rights abuses, armed groups or financial crime and to seek appropriate prevention, mitigation and remediation.
Claims
“Conflict-free” claims for Microboard or a specific product are made only when supported by sufficient due diligence and adequate documentation for the relevant supply chain.
